The Arendt Oak in Wieleń is a unique natural monument and at the same time a historical symbol that can be seen at the intersection of Kościuszki, Staszica and Szkolna streets, right next to the town hall. The tree was planted in 1920 to commemorate Wieleń regaining independence, which gives it a special patriotic meaning. Its seedling was grown by a local gardener, Władysław Nowak, and during the planting ceremony, his six-year-old daughter Urszula carried it in a traditional Kraków costume.
