The construction of the church in Gomunice probably began in 1913. Only the walls had been built before the outbreak of the war. In 1916, at the initiative of the legionnaires staying at the Polish Legions' Convalescent Home, further work began. The convalescents, under the direction of Father Kosma Lenczowski, their chaplain, took the initiative to complete the construction of the church. On their initiative, a four-grade primary school was also opened for the children of workers from a nearby factory. The facility also provided education for illiterate adults. In addition to education, children received free meals. A library was organized at the school. Cultural life was very rich. Among the patients were also actors who performed plays, and the income from them was donated to the church's equipment. A very good bicycle path, even though it is made of cobblestones.

Gray and scary, like a ghostly castle. With its gloomy façade. With a very nice interior and a pleasant, green square around. It's worth visiting.
