Wind Rose

Highlight • Viewpoint

A great place in the largest desert in Europe! According to many, the Rose of the Winds is the desert's biggest attraction: not only are there shelters with a roof, but also an observation platform on the desert and... military cannons. In addition, in the season there is a bistro, sausages and so on... so everything is great.

Lake Sosina

Highlight • Lake

The Sosina Lagoon is located in the eastern part of Jaworzno, in the Pieczyska district. Its creation is related to the activities of the "Szczakowa" Underfoot Sand Mine, which supplied the sand selected here to Silesian mines in order to fill the so-called voids. The first 17 ha of the reservoir was created at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, and after a decade the reservoir was enlarged to its present size, amounting to about 50 ha. The lagoon has the shape of an elongated letter L; the average depth is about 2 m. In the middle of the basin there is a large island. The water in the tank is class II purity.
The Sosina Lagoon is one of the favorite places of summer recreation for the inhabitants of Jaworzno. The western shore of the lake was developed by the "Sosina" Leisure and Recreation Center. Holidaymakers can take advantage of the guarded bathing beach, sandy beach, sports and recreational equipment rental (pedal boats and kayaks), holiday houses, catering facilities and a camping site.

Błędów Desert

Highlight • Natural

Another lookout point for the desert in this area. Not as good as the Rose of the Winds (no military guns here!), but less crowded in high season and the shelter is perhaps even better. Climb the steps to the observation deck - the sunsets here are simply divine.

Green Pond

Highlight • Lake

If you have already "scored" the Błędowska Desert, now it's time for water on the sand. A beautiful pond, green indeed, but I'm also thinking about planting trees here. It makes you want to rest here. This place is made for relaxation.

Sławków Inn (Tavern)

Highlight • Historical Site

The inn in Sławków is a T-shaped building with an area of 380 square meters, with a wide front to the Market Square, side adjacent to ul. Little Market Square.
The building is wooden, carcass construction, one-story, on a low foundation. The walls were whitewashed in the past. The front elevation (from the Market Square) has five axes. Two axes on each side were occupied by tavern rooms. The left part is slightly wider than the right, and an additional brick room was added to it (from the back) in the past.
Both parts of the inn are separated by a wide gate and a passageway leading to the rear part of the building where the state was located (coach house and stable).
Today it is difficult to determine since when the inn was located on this site. Archaeological research has shown that the fragments of the building's foundations date back to the city's foundation in the 13th century. However, it is difficult to say whether it was already used as an inn at that time. It is known, however, that during his stay in Sławków on August 27-29, 1697, King August II the Strong feasted in the inn. He was also supposed to break a silver cup with his bare hands in front of the gathered guests. The building received its present appearance in the 18th century. On the inn's ceiling beam, there is a date that is read by some as 1701, by others as 1781, although the first one seems more likely. It probably refers not to the construction of the inn, but to its renovation. Since then, the Sławków inn has survived, with minor changes, to this day.

A nice place with an interesting history. There used to be a swimming pool here, you can see the posts and the beach. The pool is a relic of the military.
