The history of the Fishing Plant in Żabieniec begins in the post-war period. On January 1, 1951, the Government Resolution established the Inland Fisheries Institute in Olsztyn, and a year later the construction of the Experimental Fishing Station began on the premises of the pond fishing farm in Żabieniec. On March 5, 1952, almost 180 hectares of land belonging to the Żabieniec farm, former Wilanów estates, were taken over from the Głosków State Agricultural Farm under the Fisheries Experimental Plant. In 1955, the Experimental Fishing Pond Station in Żabieniec was established as a branch of the Institute with a Breeding Laboratory and Biological and Chemical Laboratory. https://rzd.zabieniec.pl/historia/
