The wooden house situated on the Bug River is a spatial manifestation of Open Form – an idea that Oskar Hansen made the axis of his architectural, artistic and didactic work. Since 2014, the house has been under the care of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, and at the end of 2017 it became a branch of the Museum. Source: https://archiwum.artmuseum.pl/pl/muzeum/szumin

The parish was established in the 13th century. The first church existed already in 1240. In 1973, a Proto-Slavic cemetery from the period from the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD was discovered under Kamieńczyk. The first mentions of the town date back to 1452, when Kamieńczyk received city rights from Prince Bolesław. At that time, it was called Kamieniec Mazowiecki. In the 16th century, the town was the seat of a castellany, had a defensive castle, a royal summer residence for hunting, a town hall, a cloth hall, 7 water mills, 3 churches, 13 butchers, 20 breweries, a customs house controlling the Bug River (approx. 4,000 barges with grain and forest products passed through here annually) and 300 brick houses. The city's decline and destruction were caused by fires in 1612 and 1615, a fire and plague in 1647, and the Swedish Deluge. https://diecezja.waw.pl/parafia/kamienczyk-parafia-wniebowziecia-najswietszej-maryi-panny/
