The first church in this place was mentioned in 1235, destroyed during the Hussite wars, it was rebuilt in 1466. The cornerstone for the construction of the current church was laid in 1690, while construction works were completed in 1693. The architect of the church was Johann Peter Tobler. The polychrome was made by Karol Dankwart (known, among others, for his works in the basilica of St. James the Elder and Agnes in Nysa), they present scenes from the lives of both patrons, the Mother of God and the saints. The main altar was made by Johann Weinmann from Ellwangen and consecrated in 1701. The stucco is the work of G. Alberti, B. Mutino and P. Simonetti.

A section of the restored medieval city walls, preserved in the northeastern section. From the town square, a stone structure with half-timbered towers can be seen. The walls were originally 10-12 meters high, but after the moat was filled in, they were significantly lowered. https://fotopolska.eu/171429,str.html?map_z=19&f=1081193-foto
