The volunteer firefighters of Świerczyniec celebrated their 160th anniversary on July 9, 2017. The first mention of the local fire department was in 1857. The Pszczyna archives contain a note about an inspection of firefighting equipment in the Świerczyniec commune. At that time, a hand-held fire engine was located at Jedlina Manor. Nine years later, the Duke of Pszczyna built and equipped a fire station in Świerczyniec. The hand-held fire engine, with its horse-drawn carriage, served the firefighters until 1957. One of the first commanders was Augustyn Kłyk. Records from those early years are scarce. Word of mouth records indicate that Świerczyniec firefighters extinguished two major fires: one at the church in Bojszów and one at the buildings in Cielmice.

In the early years of their operations, in the pre-war period, Bojszów firefighters rode into action on horseback. The unit's first vehicle was a Polish-made combat vehicle called Ursus, donated in 1953 by the Stalinogród mine. It served the firefighters for 10 years. In 1963, the firefighters acquired a new GM-8 combat vehicle, funded by the former Piast mine in Lędziny, and a "Leopolia" motor pump, donated by the District Fire Department Headquarters in Pszczyna. The unit's third combat vehicle was a Star-26, manufactured in 1967. The firefighters received it on July 21, 1971. In 1994, the Bojszowy Commune authorities purchased a brand new, medium-sized STAR 244 GBA 2.5/16 rescue and firefighting vehicle with a 2,500-liter water tank for our unit. This vehicle served the Bojszowy unit until 2017. Currently, the STAR serves the Międzyrzecz Volunteer Fire Department.

On February 28, 1926, at the initiative of Józef Stalmach, a resident of Bojszowy Górne, the founding meeting of the Volunteer Fire Department in Bojszowy took place. Thirty-one volunteers signed up for membership that day, and Mr. Pawełczyk's barn was designated as the first fire station headquarters. The first hand pump was also located there. During the occupation period, from 1939 to 1945, the unit partially suspended its operations. During this time, firefighters were not allowed to hold meetings. After the war, in 1945, construction began on a fire station. The new station opened in 1951. It consisted of a garage, a utility room, and a fuel storage facility. In 1965, a plan was developed to expand the fire station, and the building soon took on its current dimensions and shape. It was opened on July 20, 1969. On the same day, man first landed on the Moon.

A local paved road runs along the Vistula River along Wałowa Street. A good alternative to exiting the heavily trafficked sections of Skromna and Wolska roads.
