The Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Użranki (near Mrągowo) is a historic religious building. Although often confused with the nearby, more famous church in Szestno, this charming church is a significant landmark on the Masurian map, offering a peaceful atmosphere and architecture characteristic of the region.

There are two observation towers in Mrągowo. Additionally, a third tower is located in the Mrągowo Commune, on the Four Winds Mountain.

The Protestant church is a parish church of the Protestant parish founded in 1866, built in 1881/82 as a red brick building with neo-Gothic (buttresses, spire) and neo-Romanesque (round-arched windows) style elements. The Catholic parish church of the Catholic parish founded in 1938 was built in 1923/24 as a neo-Baroque plastered building on a high fieldstone base. In order to ensure better pastoral care for the growing population, 23 new parishes with their own places of worship were founded in East Prussia between 1853 and 1893.[8] The Evangelical Lutheran parish of Warpuhnen was founded with a parish deed[9] of June 17, 1866 from 18 villages that had previously been part of the parishes of Bäslack, Rössel, Bischofsburg, Sorquitten, Sensburg and Seehesten. Warpuhnen belonged to the diocese of Sensburg in the Prussian administrative district of Gumbinnen (until 1905) and Allenstein (1905 to 1945) within the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia. The Protestant service initially took place in the schools of Warpuhnen and the surrounding towns. On June 17, 1881, the foundation stone for the new church building was laid, which was inaugurated on August 8, 1882.[10] The first pastor of the new church was Pastor Borkowski (1881–1885).[11] The service was held in German and Polish or Masurian, which was predominantly spoken by the local population at the time.[12] Until Masurian was banned as a church language at the end of 1939[13], services in Masurian were only held once a month by Pastor Erich Schimba, who also held the German-language service until 1945, due to the displacement of Masurian by (Low) German. After that, services were only allowed to be held in Polish, but the congregation insisted on continuing to sing the hymns in German. Pastoral care was provided from Sorquitten by the pastors of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland (Kościół Ewangelicko-Augsburski w Polsce) Alfred Jagucki (1914–2004) and Wilhelm Firla (1915–1990). As a result of war, flight, expulsion and resettlement of the German population, there is no longer a separate Protestant congregation in what is now Warpuny (unlike in nearby Sorkwity). While the parish had more than 2,000 members in the early 1950s (after over 4,000 before the Second World War), the number fell drastically after 1957 due to the possibility of resettlement and was only 16 when Pastor Mutschmann took office in 1986. The use and maintenance of the church, which today belongs to the Diocese of Masuria (Diecezja mazurska), is correspondingly difficult. Warpuhnen belonged to the Heiligelinde parish by decree of January 18, 1861. The Warpuhner parish of St. Anthony of Padua was founded around 1938 from six villages of the Heiligelinde parish with around 400 believers and since 1939 has belonged to the newly established Bischofsburg deanery in the Diocese of Warmia (since 1992 the Archdiocese of Warmia). Between 1922 and 1923, the Heiligelinde provostship had the Catholic parish church of St. Anthony of Padua built by the architect Georg Quednow (1868 - after 1937) from Guttstadt (Dobre Miasto) as a light plastered building with a high natural stone base in the neo-baroque style under the direction of the later Frauenburg cathedral canon Anton Krause. Quednow was a student of Conrad Wilhelm Hase, the founder of the Hanover School of Architecture, and worked in Guttstadt as an architect and building contractor. He led numerous Catholic church building projects in Warmia, including the reconstruction of the Guttstadt Cathedral (1895) and the construction of the neo-Gothic St. Lawrence Basilica in Stolzhagen (Kochanówka) from 1911 to 1918.[38] In 1929, he was awarded honorary citizenship together with the Ermland bishop Augustinus Bludau (1862–1930) on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of his birthplace.[39] It is also said that he was the only official representative and city elder to pay his last respects to Felix Halpern, the chairman of the Jewish community in Guttstadt, who died in 1937.[40] The church was consecrated on September 12, 1934 by Bludau's successor, Bishop Maximilian Kaller (1880-1947).
