Since I live here, I have this walk on my regular rotation. Your photos are of Praia do São Roque and of Praia de Militias. The church is São Roque and is next to the beach by the same name. Militias beach is seven minutes to the easy. Populo beach is another five minutes further. It is an easy hike and pleasant on a sunny day.

Black volcanic sand beach. Great for sunbathing. At the beginning of June, we didn't see anyone swimming in the sea.
