Since I live here, I have this walk on my regular rotation. Your photos are of Praia do São Roque and of Praia de Militias. The church is São Roque and is next to the beach by the same name. Militias beach is seven minutes to the easy. Populo beach is another five minutes further. It is an easy hike and pleasant on a sunny day.

On the 7th floor of the hotel there is a swimming pool and a wonderful view of the sunset with a glass of wine or cocktail.

This small church directly opposite the cruise pier is also a church worth seeing in Ponta Delgada, although not the most magnificent.

The central farmers' market has been undergoing renovation for some time now. The fruit market has moved to the underground car park and there is currently no fish market on site. It's a shame if you had similar expectations as for the market in Funchal.
