From Pico do Barrosa, you'll have arguably one of the most beautiful views. Not only of Lagoa do Fogo, but also of much of the island. The short, steep climb is well worth it. The road is only partially accessible during peak travel season. So either leave early or use the shuttle bus system.

Unfortunately, a few kilometers past point 3, the trail was blocked off and under video surveillance. Up until then, it was a challenging hike. Compared to other trails, it was more difficult than the stated moderate rating.

Around here there is a smell of sulfur everywhere, it smokes and bubbles everywhere. There is a picnic area nearby where you can prepare your own food in holes in the ground.
