The Laboreiro Waterfall (Cascata do Laboreiro) is one of the most beautiful spots in Peneda-Gerês National Park, located near the village of Castro Laboreiro in Melgaço. It's a waterfall formed by the Laboreiro River, which cascades down between granite rocks, creating natural pools. The surroundings are spectacular: mountains, native vegetation, and panoramic views of the valley. Ideal for photography and enjoying nature in its purest form.

The Ponte Velha de Castro Laboreiro is one of the most emblematic historical bridges in Peneda-Gerês National Park, located in the municipality of Melgaço. Of medieval origin, it was probably built between the 13th and 14th centuries. Style: Romanesque architecture, with a semicircular arch and granite stonework. Function: It formed part of the ancient road that connected Galicia with northern Portugal, facilitating the crossing of the Laboreiro River.

Peneda Waterfall, located next to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda: It is located in the parish of Gavieira, municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, within the Peneda-Gerês National Park. It has a drop of 30 meters, visible from afar thanks to its white spray. The waters fall just behind the former dormitories of the Sanctuary, now converted into the Hotel Peneda, and flow under the building before joining the Peneda River.

Sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda, located in northern Portugal: It is located in the parish of Gavieira, municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, within the Peneda-Gerês National Park, about 150 km from Porto. [pt.wikipedia.org], [danielasan...araujo.com] It is built over a cave beneath a granite massif known as Penedo da Meadinha, in a spectacular location bordering a deep valley.

This ancient stone bridge crosses the Ribeira da Varziela near the village of Varziela. Built with large granite blocks and a simple arch, it is a fine example of traditional mountain architecture.

Bico do Patelo, literally "Patelo’s Beak," is a striking granite rock formation in Peneda-Gerês National Park. Its bold shape rises above the surrounding hills, catching the eye from different points along the PR3 Castrejo trail. As you approach, the unusual form makes it a natural landmark and one of the memorable sights of the hike.

The current building dates back to the mid-18th century and was, for a time, a barracks. It's very robustly constructed from stone blocks and charmingly furnished. The clean, small rooms are designed for pilgrims and short stays and are perfectly adequate. The small restaurant also conjures up delicious local dishes.

The last ascent to the Sanctuary church is via the staircase of virtues, with statues representing faith, hope, charity, and glory, dated 1854, a work by master Francisco Luis Barreiros. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theologische_Tugenden In the meantime, there is also a paid elevator within reach to bypass this last effort. Visually not successful for me. :-(
