On this section of the Laje Trail near Viseu, the route also passes through a forested area rich in tree biodiversity. A noteworthy feature here is an inscription on a large rock, known as the Maltese Cross, a symbol of the presence of the Order of Malta in the Ranhados lands. According to oral tradition, this spot marked the meeting point for pilgrims heading to the Sanctuary of Santa Eufemia. A route called "P1 - easy green" 🤪 discovered by chance and designated by the Viseu City Council as an "easy" route. I'll post the link below, but I recommend caution. Starting from Couto de Cima and not Viseu, I've modified some sections, but not the "core." Anyone interested can download the original at the link below. It's a very beautiful route, mostly in nature, but I recommend doing it with at least two people, as it's very isolated in some sections. I've had some doubts at times, but in context, it's a nice route ⚠️ more for mountain biking and at the limit for gravel, but not with other bikes. Mine was already at the "limit," and in fact, I did some sections on foot, pushing 🚲 😁 Here's the link where these routes are located: 👇🏻 https://cm-viseu.pt/pt/areas-servicos/desporto-atividade-fisica/instalacoes-desportivas-espacos-promotores-de-atividade-fisica/centro-de-btt-de-viseu-tiago-ferreira/

The Rio Dão rises in the Serra da Estrela (mountainous region of Portugal) about 2 km northwest of the town of Aguiar da Beira at about 900 m. It flows out after approx. 92 km into the reservoir of the Aguieira dam and then it merges into the Rio Mondego.

November 22, 2021, Paço dos Cunhas

Paço dos Cunhas is a highly recommended restaurant in a palace of the former noble family of the Cunhas in the 15th century. Attached to this is the Casa de Santar, a wine producer. A perfectly preserved cellar from the 15th century is used, which is typically built in granite and has historical tiles. This results in a successful synthesis of tradition and progressive technology. The internationally known vineyards are surrounded by pine and chestnut groves.
