V začetku maja 1981 so začeli rušiti staro kočo in graditi novo; odprli so jo 23. julija 1983 ob 90-letnici Kamniške podružnice SPD.

The lodge stands on the southern, slightly lower part of the Velikoplanina alpine plateau called Mala planina; there is an old pastoral settlement nearby. The lodge was built by Domžale mountaineers and opened on 9 August 1953. In 1956, an electric power line was built from Kisovec to the lodge, and in 1963 a large annex was built. In 1988, the rooms with accommodation were adapted and modernized and adapted to the needs of pension guests. In 1992 and 1993, they built a covered connecting corridor between the home and the annex and new toilets, raised the roof of the annex and thus gained space for new beds and carried out several renovation works.
