The castle was built in the 16th century and once served as a fortress and residence of the Counts of Ennsegg. Today the castle is privately owned. The Enns State Music School has been housed in the wings since 2001, and Ennsegg Castle is also used for various events, such as concerts, exhibitions and festivals.
