One of three preserved gates of the medieval city fortifications

A beautiful ruin where services are still held today, albeit irregularly. There are many very old gravestones in the churchyard. There are three beautiful, old linden trees to admire and behind the churchyard is a very well-preserved tower mound.

Unfortunately, I only drove past. Next time I'll stop. From what you could see from the outside, the church is very remarkable considering the remoteness in which it stands.

Small, pretty market square, with depictions of the area's history at the fountain - very cutely done in my opinion.

The Greifswald Gate is one of three gates that still exist in Grimmen. The gate, built between 1350 and 1400, was part of the city's medieval defense system. It was badly damaged by a lightning strike around 1800. The late Gothic brick building was rebuilt a little smaller and less adorned due to tight budgets. In 1980, the Greifswald Gate was extensively renovated.
