Hundertmorgen! Better than the name suggests, you really can't describe the ride across the open space any better. With a magnificent view south towards the Odenwald

Excerpt from "Historical Local Trail Brensbach House "Heidelberger Straße 23" (Cabaret Pub Alte Post)" "Of the 12 inns that once existed in Brensbach, the inn "Zur Post" was undoubtedly the "first inn on the block." The origins of the later inn, "Zur Post," cannot be precisely determined, but it is certainly part of the oldest settlement in the town. In 1835, Johann Jakob Hoffmann, son of the Adler innkeeper Wilhelm Jakob Hoffmann, was appointed postal dispatcher by the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis, which at that time still held the postal monopoly in the Grand Duchy of Hesse. His father's inn, "Zum Adler," was subsequently renamed "Zur Post" and subsequently served as a stagecoach stop. The Thurn and Taxis postal line ran from Darmstadt via Brensbach to Eberbach am Neckar and back. There were also branch lines, such as to Reichelsheim. At the "Zur Post" inn, the horses were changed for the first time, which made a larger number of stables available. As a result of the construction of the railway, stagecoach traffic was restricted, and from 1871 onwards, stagecoaches only ran from Brensbach to Reinheim and back. Only its use as an inn survived until the 1960s. The inscription on the barn's gate indicates the year 1817. Inside the striking building, presumably built in the early 19th century, the unique 19th-century "post office" and the original guest room have been preserved. Since 1994, the property has also housed the "Alte Post Brensbach e.V." (Text as of 2023)
