The ferry can take you from here to Southworth and Vashon Island. Crossing time is usually about 45 minutes. There is a walkway on the left side of the pier from which you get a nice view over the Puget Sound.

As the name indicates, Island Center Forest is situated basically in the middle of Vashon Island. The area of 440 acres is home to more than 70 species of birds and other wildlife. The various trails have a total length of more than 10 miles and lead through the forest and along ponds and beautiful, moss covered trees.

You can take multiple routes throughout this beautiful park that will lead you through gorgeous wooded areas and to the beach, where you can breathe in the fresh salty air. The park is diverse for its size, with miles of hiking paths, several picnic shelters, playfields and an outdoor heated saltwater pool with a bathhouse. Sea lions and harbor seals are often visible along the coastline. If lucky, you may see an Orca passing by. On the west end of the park, there is a ridge with great views overlooking Puget Sound.
