The trail's design, often set below grade, creates a feeling of being deep in a nature reserve, far from the urban bustle.

This 14.1-mile (22.6 km) jogging route, with only 77 feet (23 metres) of elevation gain, is rated difficult primarily due to its length, taking about 2 hours and 19 minutes to complete. The well-maintained, ADA-compliant surfaces make it accessible for a wide range of fitness levels, perfect for those seeking a sustained, easy-paced run. Parking is generally available, and the trail is suitable for year-round use, though cooler weather offers a more comfortable experience.

This is a well-maintained, tranquil, waterfront park with a short walking path, grassy fields, and several beautiful mature trees for shade. There are a couple of nice gazebos, picnic tables, a playground, and a small stretching station. It is a wonderful spot to stop, have lunch, and take in the stunning scenery Nassau Bay has to offer.
