This old flour mill was built in 1935 by Charles Lucas, who moved to Charlotte from New York City after the Great Depression. The mill caught fire and closed in 1970, but its ruins remain as a local historic monument.

The Common Market has several locations, but this was the first. This eclectic market started in 2002 and is a favorite of many and worth checking out! - @commonmarket_plazamidwood

Eastland Mall opened in 1975 with its million square feet of retail space. It was the crown jewel of Charlotte Retail Shopping at the time. The mall closed in 2010 and the property has been vacant ever since. Plans are to covert some of this property into a park and open the space in 2026.

Nice shaded path with plenty of dog walkers and moms with strollers. This greenway does not lend itself to cyclists interested in going fast.

This connector trail is light gravel in a wooded environment but opens up fairly quickly to a paved path.

This is one of several man-made features available in this park. They are well built and will make you truly enjoy this 5-mile loop.

One of my favorite bike routes in all of Charlotte. Has gravel, gravel/paved, and paved (no advanced trails; those are for hiking only). So beautiful and so much fun to ride.
