New Millpond is great for a hike around and other recreational activities like fishing. It was man-made and completed in 1825. It is 109 acres in size and owned by the Suffolk County Parks Department. It is a stunningly shallow pond that reaches a depth of around 8 feet. In the summertime, check out the growth of Hydrilla plants, and in the winter, check out the frozen surface and peacefulness.
