Flattail Lake is one of the highlights of the preserve. There are a number of ponds on the property, but a small spur trail brings you to this cool viewpoint that is probably the best view in the entire preserve. Even if you blow by the turn for this viewing spot, you'll get more views of the water as you run around the lake.

There is a load of interconnecting crushed-gravel and grass trails that are well-maintained, well-marked, and easy to connect to make different sized loops. It's pretty much impossible to go for a run here without seeing animals, making you feel like you're way off in the wilderness even though you barely have to leave town to get here.
