December 8, 2023, North Virginia Street Gravel Section

North Virginia Street a short gravel section (2 miles) between Reno and Cold Springs. It's generally in good condition and a safer option than the Freeway like 395 it parallels.

December 8, 2023, White Lake

White Lake fluctuates between full and empty rather regularly. No matter its current status the area is still a good spot for a ride, as the roads are not too busy and the shoulders are wide. Sunset is a good time to go but you'll want to finish before it get fully dark, or have your lights fully charged, since there isn't a lot of lighting aside from the stars.

August 19, 2023, Pyramid Lake

This viewpoint gives you a great view over Pyramid Lake, the last remnants of a large inland sea that once covered most of modern day Nevada. There is no easy way to get here and it's miles from anywhere so be prepared for long stretches with no water before you attempt to ride out here.

August 19, 2023, Truckee River

The Truckee River runs right through the center of Reno and provides miles of trails in both directions. Everything along the river is part of the Tahoe to Pyramid bike trail that parallels the Truckee River from its source in Tahoe City to its end at Pyramid Lake.

Nice little park with a playground, skatepark, covered picnic/bbq area, and large field to let the kids and/or dogs run. There are toilets and water fountains here but they're usually closed during winter.

Good view of Red Rock from the road. If you have extra time you can ride up the gravel road for a closer look. The striking colors of the rocks are even more dramatic around sunset/golden hour.
