Marselisborg Palace belongs to the Danish Royal Family and is beautifully situated in Marselisborg Memorial Park in the south of Aarhus. Marselisborg Palace was built in 1902 and was the people's wedding gift to King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine. Marselisborg Palace offers a unique location with an unobstructed view of sea and forest. It is secluded from its surroundings and surrounded by a charming English-style castle garden. The garden features small lakes, a rose garden, an herb garden, and an impressive collection of artworks, including sculptures by His Royal Highness Prince Henrik. The palace opens to the west with an impressive entrance and two miniature towers that also adorn the customs house in the center of Aarhus. The building is decorated with maritime motifs, including seagulls in the window carvings and beautifully carved shells on the entrance door, accompanied by a fish above the door. The beautifully planted castle garden, which also includes a lovely rose garden, can be visited when the royal family is not staying at Marselisborg Palace. https://www.visitaarhus.de/region-aarhus/reiseplanung/marselisborg-schloss-gdk603712

Some of the small bridges scattered through this beautiful forest add a little extra charm to the trail. Crossing streams and wetter sections, they blend perfectly into the peaceful woodland surroundings.

Hidden among the trees, this memorial stone honours Casper Peter Rothe Ingerslev, a 19th-century landowner and public servant from Aarhus. It has stood here in the forest since 1866.

Unfortunately, the grates on the steps are not suitable for dogs, as claws can get stuck.
