Once the estate of the de Vere family, Curragh Chase Forest Park is a large area of parkland, trails, mixed forests, lakes, and an arboretum. The ruins of Curragh Chase House still stand in the park. It dates from the mid 16th century but was ravaged by fire in 1941 leaving nothing but the facade. You can also find a cafe within the grounds which makes a relaxing pitstop.
