Kenosha does offer many dining opportunities with a variety of cuisines. The Lakefront Warehouse is an excellent bar/restaurant offering a wide variety of craft beers as well as uniform industrial beers. The meals are delicious, staff friendly and welcoming.

Like most other cities along Lake Michigan, Kenosha does not disappoint with its beautiful parks and beaches along the lake front. If you have time, get off the bike and take a dip in the refreshing Lake Michigan waters. The lake front trails all lead to the village centre, not large but offering several outdoor cafés and dining possibilities.

This magnificent smoothly asphalted trail makes a straight line to Evanston via Waukegan. I only rode the part to the intersection Rockland Road / Sheridan Rode where this trail intersects with the North Shore Bicycle Train / Illinois Prairie Trail. The asphalt is for the most part very smooth, with only a few bumps from tree roots pushing up the and buckling the asphalt. One other part which without GPS, I would have been lost, was located in an industrial park where there is a separated bike lane (cool) but the asphalt there is in horrific condition. Just go at a snails pace here, shortly thereafter, one turns on to what looks like a heavily travelled road, however the bike lane is hidden next to it, and the neighborhood becomes more pleasant around the Great Lakes Naval Base. Also one place that I really was a bit uncomfortable was between Argonne Drive and Martin Luther King Drive. There were a lot of youths taking up the entire bike lane and some drug addicts lying down in the middle of the road sleeping off their high. There was no confrontation or anything like this. It just gave me a bit of an weird feeling.

If you're looking for a serene biking experience, the Pleasant Prairie segment of the Kenosha County Bike Trail is definitely worth a visit. You'll be treated to a peaceful ride on a smooth, straight asphalt trail that's shaded by an abundance of trees. — The Illinois part of the trail turns into gravel.

A lovely beach and park on the shores of Lake Michigan. There's a paved bike trail along the waterfront. It's a big beach, so plenty of space to spread out your volleyball net and have a picnic.
