A deserted mountain road that is no longer maintained. Even though nature is slowly reclaiming the road, it's still pleasant to ride, even with a fully loaded bike. The road is home to many lizards that sun themselves on the asphalt and quickly scurry away as soon as you approach on your bike. Great views are guaranteed here, too.

A nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

A deserted road that hasn't been repaired in decades—overgrown, potholes, and untidy boulders. The road is easily passable and free of cars. No traffic at night! There are some sections that can be dangerous in poor visibility. It's well-suited for trekking bikes, mountain bikes, and gravel bikes, but not so much for road bikes. Plenty of shade in the afternoon. A good and very scenic alternative to the main road.

The very massive city fortifications protect the old town.

The bike path runs alongside the lake. It's not particularly long, but it's nice and well-maintained. After the third wooden bridge, you can choose one of the many paths you want to cycle along. Don't forget your GPS, because it's easy to get lost.

To all bike travelers, I highly recommend you to go to his workshop for any problem or simply to have your bikes serviced before facing other neighboring countries. It is located in a strategic place close to the border. If you contact him in advance (via his Instagram page @the_bicycle_workshop_), he can order parts for you. He is certainly one of the best repairers in the north of the country and especially in neighboring countries. All his advice on bike maintenance is very relevant and yet quite unknown to cycle tourists. Very happy to leave with a brand new bike!

The city's newest bike path goes from Velissareion to the university. It's made of tartan, a bit narrow but makes cycling in both directions much easier.

Cracks and holes in the pavement, a few rocks (and tortoises!) on the road. Tranquil riding off the main road.
