Pritzerber See hiking trails traverse a diverse landscape characterized by extensive wetland ecosystems, including alder and birch swamp forests, bogs, and sandy ridges. These features originated from a meltwater channel during the last glacial period. Hikers will encounter small lakes formed in old clay pits within the swamp forests, alongside areas of pine and oak forests on higher ground. The region's dynamic ecosystem is influenced by the lake's frequently flooded banks, offering varied terrain for exploration.

The village church is a simple, Baroque plastered building dating from 1765 with a choir, nave, a small transept, and a west tower with a turret. Inside, the church features a wooden altar screen. The organ dates from 1861 and was built by the Berlin organ builder Wilhelm Remler. It stands on a wooden west gallery above the entrance, slightly bulging around the organ and richly decorated with paintings. (Wikipedia) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fohrde

I don't know why this is called a picnic area; I don't remember any seating, and the photos don't show any. It's still a nice view.
