Beautiful, old town church, centrally located.

Along the Störkanal you pass this bridge, from which you have a great view of the canal. Right in front of the bridge, there are benches and a table for a short break.

The overnight stay at Basthorst Castle, with its excellent spa, was very relaxing. My impression, however, is that the target audience is more likely drivers of higher-end cars. The last leg of my cycling journey was very arduous (a forest path in terrible condition... you can find many, many photos of it on Komoot - therefore, choose a longer, alternative route via the road...).

Bumpy cycling and quite enjoyable, if a bit monotonous for me. Since this HL has been posted a dozen times, I'm not giving it a thumbs up.

Unfortunately, this highlight has been created far too often. The path wasn't particularly pleasant for touring bikes – it was potholed (in parts) and branches and bushes overhanging the path. But it's all doable. It just takes a long time and drags on...

Probably the most comfortable resting place on the canal

The place is theoretically very nice, but unfortunately, it was extremely littered when we were there. Disgusting. A quick photo and then we moved on. Apparently a popular open-air restroom, so take a look at what it looks like right now.
