It's grown quite a bit. If the battery runs out, there's something for everyone at the country inn :)

The route, also known as the Vogtland Autobahn, was started in the 1930s as a corner connection of the north-south route Berlin-Munich and the east-west route Dresden-Bad Hersfeld, in order to connect Silesia and East Saxony with Bavaria. Due to the high level of industrialisation in South Saxony and the scenic beauty, the route from Chemnitz to Hof was considered important by the Inspector General for German Road Construction, Fritz Todt. The first section between the Pirk and Treuen junctions was opened for construction in the summer of 1934, the section from Zwickau-West to the Chemnitz motorway triangle in March 1935, the section from Treuen to Zwickau-West in the autumn and finally the last section from the Bavarian Vogtland motorway triangle to the Pirk junction in March 1936. On the trail, which is in parts extremely narrow and washed out, after the nudist area it was impossible to go any further due to fallen trees. Had to take to the streets. Not recommended.
