And there are subtle differences when it comes to public transport too. Instead of an S-Bahn, only a bus stops here. But it also runs on weekends, twice a day. Incidentally, the bus stops at „Potsdamer Straße“ and „Unter den Linden“ are only a minute apart. Try to beat that time in the other Berlin. According to the memorial stone, which was unveiled on June 18, 1964, in memory of the divided capital, there are 357 kilometers between this idyllic, friendly patch of earth in the deepest Schleswig-Holstein and our capital. Not only in terms of distance, but also in terms of lifestyle.

Daily fresh eggs from happy chickens Sushi, street art and alternative artist quarters are sought in vain here in the countryside. Instead, Berlin scores points in the municipality of Seedorf with a small wooden hut for self-caterers. In the middle of the village at Potsdamer Platz, everyone can stock up here with homemade jam and daily fresh eggs from happy chickens for a small donation. Unthinkable at the other Potsdamer Platz in the other Berlin. By the way, the main street here is called "Unter den Linden". Just without monuments, hotels and without the Brandenburg Gate.

Berlin and country life? Potsdamer Platz and tranquility? Hard to imagine. But in the municipality of Seedorf in the deepest part of Schleswig-Holstein, these words fit together like a hand in a glove. We heard there's supposed to be another, bigger Berlin. A memorial stone at Potsdamer Platz also points to this. Seriously. It's really called that here. Just a few steps from the Kurfürstendamm. In the other Berlin, you have to walk four kilometers for that. The streets owe their names to the inhabitants who had served in Berlin regiments during the Imperial era. Since the village of 600 souls in the Segeberg district was first mentioned as early as 1215, it is considered the oldest Berlin in the world. To be precise, it is 22 years older than the capital. What you do miss a bit here, however, are the cultural and culinary offerings of the big brother. Or should it be 'big sister'? Whatever. Back to the topic.

The church was built of red brick between 1871 and 1872 and consecrated in 1873. The east wall of old burial vaults, which was not destroyed, serves as the foundation wall for the east wall of the current church. The east wall opens through a chancel arch into the adjoining chancel. Map » on the map
