Tips from the Community

October 19, 2023, Desert Rose Trail

The Desert Rose trail is a connector trail between Estrella Mountain Competitive Track and the rest of the park. You can use it to connect to the longer trails in the regional park, but it also works great as a standalone out and back ride.

October 19, 2023, Technical Loop

The two main trails here are imaginatively named "Long Loop" & "Technical Loop". As you would imagine Long Loop is the longer of the two and the Technical Loop is the more technical ride. That being said there is some good downhill and the climb isn't too bad. This trail bears multiple rides as you will get fast the more familiar you become with the technical challenges. Can you beat your PR today?

October 19, 2023, Long Loop

Long Loop will take you around the entirety of the Estrella Mountain Competitive Track. The trial itself rests on the edge on intermediate & advanced due lots of rocks and some technical sections that will have less skilled riders dismounting.

October 16, 2023, Alta Trail

Tight, technical, and rocky the Alta Trail is a fun but challenging downhill ride. You can ride it uphill but the seemingly infinite rocky switchbacks mean there will be a lot of hike-a-bike for all but the most fit riders. If you want to save your legs you can park at the San Juan lookout and ride the road up to where it meets Alta and enjoy the ride back down to your car. Be aware that there is a lot of cacti right along the trail so long pants or shin guards would be a good idea.
