The Nordoe Inland Dunes (or often simply called "Nordoer Heide") are a nature reserve and popular recreation area for Itzehoe and the surrounding area. Beautiful path along the canal - very lonely area - but beautiful! It was pleasantly warm here in mid-September - on the path in the open meadows in front of the canal there was a cool wind - here by the canal it was calm. No snakes anywhere in sight, no mosquitoes. Tall grass - yes - but still fun to drive along. A little adventure...
