La Traversée de Charlevoix meanders through lush forest, passes beautiful lakes and crosses crystal clear streams over nice wooden bridges – a true hiker's paradise! And the next hut is never too far away.

First summit of the hike, magnificent view of Lac à l'Écluse and the surrounding peaks. You can easily see the next two summits of the route, the Sommet des Grives and the Pic Des Aigles. It's always very nice to be able to see all the peaks on a hike! For those who would like to lighten the course, it is quite possible to start directly from the lake at the Lock to make this summit, it then becomes a relatively easy and short hike.

This entry point to the Zec Des Martres territory adds 8 km to the classic hikes starting from Lac à l'Écluse. From the start, the path goes through two chalets of the Traversée de Charlevoix. The one in the photo is the Dome, a superb place to stay comfortably in nature. Consult https://www.traverseedecharlevoix.qc.ca/chalets-rustiques for rental. Immediately after this chalet, get ready for a good climb, one of the steepest in the region!

One of my favorite places! Magical place, special atmosphere, we are in full taiga with a magnificent carpet of lichen (Cladonia Stellaris). This place is easily accessible via the entrance at the end of Lac à l'Écluse. For more challenge, enter through the dome: https://www.komoot.fr/tour/208667114/zoom
