Windlust mill is a flour mill from 1857. It is a round brick mill. The mill uses parts from a post mill that stood before it but was replaced by this post mill. The Windlust remained in operation until 1958 and then fell into disrepair. Major renovation works took place in 1979 - 1980. Once again the Windlust fell into disrepair and in 2004 the Windlust hardly operated until 2008 when a new miller put his heart back into the mill and the Windlust still operated regularly. Unfortunately, upon inspection in 2023, Mill de Windlust will immediately no longer be allowed to operate. A specialized company has rejected the blades because the welds in the rods are too poor. Miller Jelle de Groote says that the risk of demolition is too great. The rods are at the end of their technical lifespan, replacement is the only option. It will take a long time before residents of Hoek see their mill running again.
