The figure 8 loops at Ballardini Ranch clock in at just under 2.5 miles, which means this is a good spot to run laps. The terrain, like everywhere in the high desert, can be rocky, so wear some good trail running shoes. Also, there is little to no shade, which means morning and evening runs during the summer are best.

Bacon Strip, named after the famous breakfast food, is a great way to start your day. It sits in the sweet spot where it's accessible to everyone with a bit of experience but still has enough to offer more advanced riders to keep things interesting. Being on Peavine you can link it with many other trails and have a ride as long or as short as you have time for.

This trail connects Ballardini Ranch to Thomas Creek, and is one of the newest trails in Reno having just opened in August of 2022. If you start at Ballardini it's pretty much all uphill until you get to Thomas Creek. Once there you can continue up and around Dry Pond or turn around and get over 1100 feet of downhill back towards Ballardini Ranch.
