The long promenade with its cafés and restaurants is particularly beautiful at the harbor. If you go to the end you will find one of the longest benches I have ever seen. There's definitely still a spot available here somewhere!

The pedestrian bridge takes you directly from the station to the water. Unfortunately, the tracks running parallel to the lake aren't often crossed otherwise. The station also has the usual shops where you can stock up on essentials.

Not only beautiful to look at when driving through the Vätternrundan, you should really make a detour to the city. Jönköping is in the north of Småland and right on the southern tip of Lake Vättern. The city has 100,000 inhabitants, but seemed much larger to us. Driving in Jönköping wasn't as easy as in other Swedish cities either - we got lost several times. It is obvious that Jönköping is doing well. In the city center there are many modern new buildings. Some gigantic logistics centers have sprung up outside the city center, probably due to the proximity to the E4 and the airports in Jönköping and Gothenburg.
