Beautiful view over the water. Water tower can sometimes be visited!

There are bike paths next to it, but if you do not want to stop, you are still on the road next to the water tower and these bike paths are either in bad state or on the road - which is often very busy. Thus, I would not recommend adding this highlight particulary without the intention to stop here!

Here you cycle past a typical Dutch picture: a mill that stands out sharply against the water in the background.

The Fort at Aalsmeer, also known as Fort Rijsenhout, dates from the years 1890-1895. The tank buildings built 10 years later meant the completion of the fort in 1905. It was part of the Amsterdam defense line. During the mobilization in the First World War, the fort was manned by approximately 280 troops. Since 2009, the CRASH Museum of Airborne Warfare and Resistance '40-'45 has been located in the fort, which is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Well, that's what I call a ferry. When I took the photo here, the friendly ferryman immediately jumped up to his hut and wanted to translate me. I only had a nice photo in mind and not a boat trip.

Nice fast cycling route for me from Leimuiden to the Amsterdamse Bos. 15 km nice cycling. Be careful of parked cars and fishermen who may do strange things with their fishing rod. But also very beautiful in the morning with the mist above the Westeinderplas and the Ringvaart.
