Overlooking Diana's Mirror 🌙 You can't say you've visited the Castelli Romani without having looked out from the little wall in Nemi. From up here, the lake seems still, nestled among the dense woods that were once sacred to the goddess Diana. It's a view that conveys incredible calm. Stop for a moment, breathe in the fresh air rising from the crater, and enjoy the contrast between the red of the strawberries on the balconies and the dark blue of the water.

Continuing for about 1 km in the Mediterranean scrub that borders the Polygon, you reach the sea. Following the coast to the right you reach the Roman Astura, landing at the mouth of the river of the same name located along the Via Severiana, home to villas since the 1st century BC. One of these belonged to Cicero. On the site, between the end of the Republic and the beginning of the Imperial age, a villa was built, partly on the mainland and partly on an artificial island, equipped with a large fish pond, the remains of which are still partly visible (the fortress was then built on the walls in the sea in about 1200).
