On the Upper Don Valley section of the Trans Pennine Trail, the tunnel is part of the abandoned railway line between Penistone and Wortley. It's lit and super echoy so quite fun to play in. It's also always really cold, so great on a hot summer day.

This site used to be one of the deepest Cole mines in the country, reaching over 250 feet (76 m) below the surface. Once the mines closed the area was rejuvenated and rewilded with the lake, wetland, grasslands and woods creating a diverse habitat for many species of flora and fauna. There are several trails, a children's playground, café and visitor centre.

This was the first sight of Emley Moor mast on this trail. The size looks daunting as you approach it. It is easy to get a rough idea of where you are as you can see the tower from most directions
