The castle was built in the early 17th century for the Caldwell's and was kept in the family until 1817 when it was passed on through marriage. The castle became a ruin in the 1900s and is now very much taken over by woodland, if you can use your imagination to picture the castle in all its glory it's still a magnificent sight.
