It is strongly noticeable here that komoot now only inserts landscape photos into highlights, which is why many photos appear cropped. A shame.

Gentle hills, extensive meadows and damp pastures – with over 220 hectares, the nature reserve "Im Rußland und in der Kuhweide bei Lindheim" is the largest nature reserve in the Wetteraukreis district. The Lindheim NABU group has been looking after the area since 1973. The Great Curlew has one of its last remaining populations here in all of Hesse, and the White Stork, Corn Crake, and Greylag Goose also find protection in the created small bodies of water and renatured sections.

The Wetterau European Bird Sanctuary north of Frankfurt am Main was created by merging several nature reserves and Habitats Directive areas. The Wetterau is Hesse's most important breeding area for waterfowl, waders, and meadow birds, and even the only breeding area in Hesse for northern pintail and red-necked grebe.
