Cabane d'Ardane Gaïnekoa is a classic shepherd’s hut that’s always a sight for sore eyes if you're out hiking the HRP. It’s surrounded by endless green slopes, grazing animals, and big mountain views. Local shepherds still use it during the summer, but it's a great, low-key spot for hikers to take a breather.

Cabin used in August 2025. There are no mattresses, but a wooden structure on which to place your own sleeping mats or mattresses. Sleeps approximately 8-10. Very good condition and well maintained. A stream flows about 20 meters away, and there is also a source (pipe) of drinking water (indicated on the map) 150 meters away. Bivouacs are also possible nearby.

For those who love the Pyrenees, climbing the Abodi mountain range from Orbaizeta and starting to see the picarrachos of the Pyrenees and the natural border created by the trees of the Irati Forest is an incredible image. I liked this area so much that I finished the stage and signed up for the Iraty Xtrm.
