Singular tree from the Municipality of Benabarre (Ribagorza) that obtained the category of Millennial Oak in 2022. With a height of 15 meters and a perimeter of 1.3 meters, it is estimated that it is more than 400 years old. Tradition has it that in times past this specimen was part of an extensive mass of gall oaks with a large diameter. Little by little they were cut, and when we reached this specimen, there was no saw big enough to cover it. For this reason he was forgiven and preserved for posterity. Currently the valley in which it is located takes the name “Valle del Roble” due to the presence of this tree.

Beautiful Ribagorzano town in an area where you can enjoy very good tracks (although stony) with all kinds of slopes for cycling. You can go in many directions and who knows, maybe you'll even end up in the nearby Barasona reservoir taking a bath!

Benabarre, with its castle rising above the town, creates an unmistakable image in the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees. Benabarre was the old capital of the Ribagorza county and its medieval fortress served as a border defense as well as a county residence. Although it ended up in a state of ruin, it has been restored in recent decades and is now a symbol of the historical legacy of this town that dates back to Roman times.
