Louis Roederer is a renowned champagne house founded in 1776 as Dubois Père & Fils, inherited and renamed by Louis Roederer in 1833. It remains one of the few independent, family-run brands, still led by the seventh generation. It is famous for its Cristal label, a vintage produced only in great years, when the Chardonnay (about 40%) and Pinot Noir (about 60%) blends are perfectly ripe. Cristal ages in the cellar for six years and rests for eight months after disgorgement. Its historic headquarters on Boulevard Lundy were built between 1852 and 1854. Architect Édouard Thiérot designed a veritable palace, in neoclassical style, composed of four buildings enclosed within a courtyard surrounded by a porticoed gallery. The entrance is crowned by a pediment bearing the Louis Roederer monogram. The two side wings house the old cellars. Its 250 hectares of vineyards are distributed exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus of the Marne. www.louis-roederer.com

Champagne Jacquart is one of the youngest "major" Champagne houses, founded in 1965 by an alliance of independent winemakers (following the expulsion of winemakers from the countless Champagne houses in the area during World War II). Today, Jacquart is the flagship brand of the Alliance Champagne Group, a consortium with 1,700 members and 2,600 hectares of vineyards. Since 2009, it has been headquartered in the Hôtel Ruinart de Brimont, a splendid residence built in 1897 by Grand Prix de Rome architect Paul Blondel, with its abundant Art Nouveau decorations, such as the rich wrought-iron portal. The courtyard houses a bar and pop-up boutique. https://www.champagne-jacquart.com/en/

Maison Palmer & Co. is a leading champagne producer with humble origins but great potential, boasting over 400 hectares of estate-owned vineyards. Its history began after World War II. In 1947, seven producers launched the maison, confident that together, the challenges they would face would be more manageable. Attention to detail and uniqueness accompanied this company through the boom of the 1960s and 1970s, decades in which Champagne tripled in volume. Over half a century of meticulous dedication to quality production has made this company solid yet flexible, capable of meeting the new challenges that contemporary times impose on the entire wine world. https://www.champagne-palmer.fr

The Canal de l’Aisne à la Marne is a 58 km-long artificial canal connecting Berry-au-Bac to Condé-sur-Marne, a distance of 58 km. Inaugurated in 1866, it is part of Hugues Cosnier's grandiose plan for an orbital route from the Loire to northern France. The route is still used for commercial traffic, primarily grain transport, while recreational traffic consists primarily of private boats in transit. Along its banks runs the Coulée verte (the green corridor), an 18 km cycle/pedestrian path that crosses the entire metropolitan area of Reims from Pont de Vesle to Sillery.
