It was on September 27, 1959 that the Bishop of Versailles erected the apostolic zone of Ursine into a parish, and placed it under the patronage of Saint Bernadette. The temporary chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph, and located on Vélizy le Bas, was replaced by the current church, which was consecrated by Monsignor Renard, Bishop of Versailles, on June 17, 1962. This church was designed, by its size and structure, as the "Tent of Meeting" that Moses had erected on God's orders. We can clearly see, in particular, the side uprights, the curved ceiling, the folds of the hanging at the back of the sanctuary.
