Very pleasant ascent, steady with a quality surface, be careful, keep a second ramp under your pedal, it hides behind before reaching the lake of Gérardmer!

I liked this pleasant lake, its welcoming terrace. We wanted to return, from the woods, but had to turn back (Spring 2026). Access is now blocked by palisades with warning signs and monitored by cameras. The marked trails of the Club Vosgien have been rerouted. As a result, the desire to go to the bar was forgotten!

Driving down from the pass towards La Bresse, after 1 km you will reach a fork in the road. Turn right onto the quiet D34 A departmental road, the Route des Américains, which climbs to the Vosges ridge road, the Route des Crêtes. There it joins the Col de Rothenbach with its striking summit. The Route des Américains is 5 km long and has an elevation gain of almost 280 meters.
