Lord Davis Castle at Charbonnières-les-Vieilles was built in the late 19th century by Lord Mortimer Davis, a wealthy Englishman who had married a local heiress. The castle is a magnificent example of neoclassical style, with elegant facades, ornate interiors and a wrought iron gate that was exhibited at the 1878 World's Fair.
