The icing on the cake of this magnificent landscape is, of course, a flowering heath, so it's best to cross it in August.

The dam is located right at the beginning of the tour from the 'Auf der kalten Hude' parking lot at the underpass of Lüneburger Straße. The sound of the rushing water is very pleasant. There are several seats where you can listen to the rushing sound, which is very relaxing. A visit is highly recommended 👍.
