The rustic alpine hut on the Kandel impresses with a magnificent view of the Glottertal valley and regional specialties. You can look forward to tasty snacks, homemade cakes, and chilled drinks. The ingredients are sourced from the region whenever possible and are obtained in cooperation with local farmers. The hut is a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers, and also offers accommodation for up to eight people. It is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and in bad weather. The inn is highly recommended. Note on the bus service: it has been discontinued since 2024 due to cost-cutting measures. The nearest bus stop on weekends is on Triberger Straße in Schonach, about 2.5 km away (note for hikers on the 7th stage of the Westweg: you only have to walk downhill). Bus 550 runs from there to Triberg train station, which connects to the Black Forest Railway.
